The Wish Fund, introduced to UBCF’s program offerings in 2024, is dedicated to fulfilling the dream of our beloved colleague, Lauren Brohm. Lauren envisioned a fund that would enable families struggling with stage IV metastatic breast cancer to have the opportunity to experience the joy and respite of a vacation together. Her wish was to create lasting memories for these families, offering them a chance to escape the daily challenges of cancer and find moments of happiness and connection. Although she was taken from us too soon, we are committed to bringing Lauren’s vision to life, ensuring her legacy endures through the smiles and cherished memories of those she aimed to help.

About The Wish Fund: The Wish Fund is designed to provide financial support to families affected by stage IV breast cancer, granting them the opportunity to create lasting memories through travel and shared experiences. These vacations offer a much-needed escape from the daily challenges of cancer, fostering hope, relaxation, and family bonding.

The Wish Fund is open to any person who has been diagnosed with state IV breast cancer (medical verification is required).

***Stage IV breast cancer, as defined by BreastCancer.org, is invasive breast cancer that has spread beyond the breast and nearby lymph nodes to other organs of the body, such as the lungs, distant lymph nodes, skin, bones, liver, or brain.

Accommodations will be available for a family group as approved by UBCF.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis and one recipient will be selected each April for a summertime trip, designed and offered by UBCF.
