United Breast Cancer Foundation Hosts Mattress & Pink Bag Event in Tallahassee, Florida, Offering Support and Comfort to Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors

Empowering Healing with Comfort and Care: Free Therapeutic Mattresses, Clothing, and Essentials Available to Breast Cancer Patients and Survivors

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., May 21, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — This June, the platinum rated charity, United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) will be hosting its amazing Mattress & Pink Bag Event® in Tallahassee, Florida. The multi-day event, scheduled from Thursday, June 26th through Monday, June 30th, is a unique opportunity for breast cancer patients and survivors to receive the support, care, comfort and hope they need.

The event, which is free for approved attendees, is designed to enhance the physical and emotional well-being of participants. Those who qualify will receive therapeutic queen-size mattresses and have access to a curated shopping experience featuring clothing, beauty products, personal care items, children items and essential housewares – all at no cost.

Breast cancer treatment often disrupts sleep patterns, leading to fatigue, anxiety, and stress. Studies have shown that quality sleep is critical for recovery, as it helps regulate immune function, reduce inflammation, and improve overall well-being. Many cancer survivors continue to experience sleep problems years after their diagnosis. According to researchers from the American Cancer Society, these issues are often linked to fears about the cancer returning or ongoing physical, emotional, or financial stress related to their cancer experience. The UBCF Mattress & Pink Bag Event® provides much needed support by giving away high-quality therapeutic mattresses, which are designed to promote restorative rest. A good night’s sleep can help improve the physical recovery process, support emotional healing, and restore energy levels, all of which are vital to navigating the challenges of cancer treatment and survivorship.

The positive impact of receiving thoughtful, practical gifts during cancer treatment cannot be overstated. According to the American Cancer Society, patients often experience feelings of isolation and vulnerability during their cancer journey, and receiving unexpected items like clothing, beauty products, and personal care items can uplift their spirits and make a tangible difference. The UBCF Mattress & Pink Bag Event® offers a wide selection of clothing, shoes, makeup, skincare, and housewares to support the needs of breast cancer patients and survivors.

In addition, the event will feature a section for children’s items, including clothing and toys, to help families affected by breast cancer meet their basic needs. These free gifts provide comfort, lift spirits, and offer a sense of normalcy during a difficult time.

The community will greatly benefit from this event, as it brings vital resources and emotional support to those that may not have access to supportive services such as this. UBCF’s outreach aims to make a lasting impact on breast cancer patients and survivors, offering not only essential items but also a sense of community and care that is essential to their healing process.

“This event is all about showing love, compassion, and support to those who need it most,” said Stephanie Mastroianni, President and Executive Director of UBCF. “By providing essential items and fostering a sense of community, we’re offering breast cancer patients and survivors the comfort and confidence they deserve as they continue their journey toward healing.”
