Huntington Station, NY (PRWEB) October 17, 2014
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and theUnited Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) would like to take this opportunity to remind women of all ages to make an appointment for their breast cancer screening.
During the month of October, UBCF is conducting a fundraising campaign to raise $10,000 for their Breast Screening Program.
UBCF provides free or low cost breast screenings to women and men regardless of age, race, gender, income or medical insurance. UBCF supports all types of screening technologies, from mammography and ultrasound to breast thermography and MRI.
According to the American Cancer Society (ACS), 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their life time. This is a startling statistic that must change. Early detection is the greatest defense against breast cancer, so tell three women you know and love to get their breast screening during October Breast Cancer Awareness month.
People across the country can support the Breast Screening Program by donating time, money, property (vehicle, boat, timeshare, land, etc) or gifts-in-kind.UBCF accepts cash, vehicle and property donations on their website at http://www.ubcf.info. Donors may send checks to UBCF, 205 Depot Road, Huntington Station, NY 11746, or donate through the Combined Federal Campaign, #77934. For more information about donating call 1-888-433-6207 toll free.
Stephanie Mastroianni, Executive Director for UBCF, reminds supporters that donating a car is a fast and easy way to help the foundation. “By donating your vehicle you’ll help fund screenings for those who would not normally be able to afford this critical procedure. And during October all of the funds received from this vital funding source will go towards the Breast Screening Program.”
