At the start of summer, over 400 runners participated in the second annual Northport Nautical Mile. (See Event Details)
The event was held on June 18, 2016 in Northport, Long Island.
Chris Regan was first place, finishing the race in a little over five minutes.
Other participants included Dr. Picard Chiropractic, who won the Mayor’s Cup. They had over 52 runners and had raised a little over $1,000 for the United Breast Cancer Foundation.
“The inaugural winner of the Mayor’s Cup, awarded to the group of people that shows the most nautical spirit, was Team Picard Chiropractic, whose 52 runners in neon-yellow shirts were led by Dr. Daniel Picard.
“It’s an awesome honor and we had a great time,” Dr. Picard said. “We showed a lot of community spirit and raised a nice chunk of change for the United Breast Cancer Foundation for families on Long Island. The money we raised goes directly to people who need it, both men and women.”
The United Breast Cancer Foundation is pleased to have been supported by our local community! We appreciate your efforts and support for our mission and values in making a positive difference in the fight against breast cancer.
We strive to support families local and national in any and every way possible. Just this past May, we donated 140 Tempur-Pedic® mattresses in the Long Island community.
In the past few months, we’ve given hundreds of needed household items (such as vacuums, bed sheets, humidifiers, etc) to the local community. We’ve reached out to breast cancer support groups in an effort to give as many needed items to those who fight breast cancer. Are you in the Long Island area? Do you have breast cancer or in 3-year remission? Be sure to contact us for an appointment!
