The United Breast Cancer Foundation hosted a Meet and Greet event on November 3rd in NYC’s fashion district. The event took place at the Aysha Collection Studio.
In a short interview, UBCF – Anam Tariq, had the chance to speak with Aysha Saeed (fashion designer and founder of Aysha Collection) about her inspiration and pursuit of fashion. Since Aysha was five years old, her dream has always been fashion and her biggest inspiration has been her mother. She tells UBCF that before she began her career in fashion, she had a career in finances. However, one day everything changed.
“Finances was the safe choice. But then I imagined my life forty to fifty years from now and I knew I couldn’t be happy. I had to make a choice. I could stay safe with my career in finances but be unhappy or to follow my passion. I took a chance and decided to follow my dream.”
And that dream is fashion.
The main idea behind AYSHA collection is to provide clothing that can be edgy and chic but at the same time elegant and sophisticated. AYSHA pieces have been sold by other retailers such as Bloomingdales and have connections with Europeans companies such as Dior and Dolce & Gabanna. AYSHA plans to make her clothing line available for purchase on-line.
Aysha couldn’t be happier with the decision to go into fashion. “I have a career where Mondays are my favorite day of the week.” And for those who aren’t sure of what their dreams are, she gives a great piece of advice –
“Be curious. Explore who you are and you’ll find your dream.”
