Combined Federal Campaign

CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with almost 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year. The CFC has rigorous standards for qualifying charities. Thousands of charities apply nationally and internationally each year and a small percentage are approved. UBCF went through the lengthy and comprehensive application process in 2012 and was approved in May, 2013. UBCF must re-apply annually to be considered for the CFC. UBCF’s CFC number is 77934. Donate through the CFC here. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (typically September 1st to January 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. UBCF is celebrating our eigth successful CFC season in 2020.

Gifts-In-Kind

Gifts-In-Kind

Gifts of goods or services that UBCF would otherwise have to pay for are as good as gold.  Gifts-in-kind mean lower costs for UBCF so more funds can be directed to our seven patient and family programs, assisting more women, men and families nationwide. UBCF could benefit from the following kinds of donations:

  • Housewares for our clients
  • Small appliances for our clients
  • Cleaning services for our clients
  • Counseling services for our clients
  • Gift Cards for our clients
  • Office supplies & Postage
  • Photography services
  • Marketing and Communications services
  • IT services
  • Grant Writing Services
  • Special Event Planning
  • Auction Items
  • Timeshares
  • Vehicles

Under current tax law, donors who wish to receive a tax deduction for gifts over $500 but less than $5,000, must file a completed IRS Form 8283 which must then be signed by UBCF’s director. For gifts exceeding $5,000 the donor must secure a formal appraisal to accompany filing IRS Form 8283. The value of the gift should be determined by the donor prior to transfer to UBCF. If necessary (for gifts valued at over $5,000), a copy of the appraisal should also be submitted to UBCF. Information on IRS Form 8283 (the form and instructions on filling out the form) can be found at: https://www.irs.gov/forms-pubs/about-form-8283. IRS law prohibits United Breast Cancer Foundation and other staff from appraising materials or UBCF paying for or arranging for appraisals. Pertinent information is available in IRS Publication No. 561 “Determining the Value of Donated Property”. Because tax laws change frequently, it is advisable that donors seek professional tax or estate counsel prior to making a gift. To donate your product or service to the United Breast Cancer Foundation, please call 877-822-4287 x 702 or e-mail Beth@ubcf.org
