CFC Campaign open to current and retired federal, military and postal employees – September 10, 2018 through January 11, 2019
HUNTINGTON STATION, N.Y. (PRWEB) SEPTEMBER 10, 2018
United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) is pleased to announce their 6th consecutive year participating in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The 2018 CFC season runs from September 10, 2018 through January 11, 2019, during which CFC events are held at various locations across the country. Established in 1961 under direction of President John F. Kennedy, the CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign. The mission of the CFC is to promote and support philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. Workplace giving through the CFC provides over 2.8 million current federal employees a reliable and efficient way to support the causes in which they believe.
UBCF is proud to be a CFC approved charity. CFC charities are 501(c)(3) organizations that provide health and human services and are determined to be eligible for participation in the CFC through a rigorous application process. Today 75% of the charities that participate in the campaign as national organizations do so as members of national Federations. These Federations, such as the Human Service Charities of America (HSCA), have their own standards which their members must meet, resulting in a group of charities to which donors can give with confidence. UBCF is a proud member of HSCA.
Through CFC giving, donors can help further UBCF’s mission: to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. Giving $50 per bi-weekly pay period can help a patient struggling to pay her mortgage and afford her treatments. Just $25 per bi-weekly pay period can pay for therapy sessions for a child of a breast cancer patient who is dealing with the difficult prospect of losing a parent. Gifts of any size can make a big difference in the lives of those fighting this difficult battle.
1 in 8 women will be diagnosed in their lifetime. Support through the CFC will help people like Breast Cancer Survivor Clara who shared, “I am truly grateful for UBCF. You have not only helped me once, but several times. I received a mattress, scholarships for my children, an Individual Grant, and items from the facility that helped me in so many ways. UBCF has always responded to me in positive ways letting me know that they understand my journey and they care. UBCF has always made me feel that they are here to assist me in whatever ways they can. They have never left me disappointed. Thank you so much. You have truly been a blessing to me and my family. I am truly grateful!”
UBCF appreciates the support of all donors. If you are a current or retired federal, military or postal employee, please consider supporting UBCF through the CFC this year! UBCF’s CFC number is 77934.
