UBCF distributes 100 twin and 20 double mattress to women, men and children impacted by breast cancer.

The United Breast Cancer Foundation (UBCF) provided a very generous donation of brand new Tempur-Pedic® mattresses to the local Long Island community this past Friday, May 13th. The International Warehouse Group of Melville, NY, a community-oriented business, generously donated their time, staff and facility to support the donation event. The generosity of the International Warehouse Group along with UBCF staff and volunteers ensured a seamless experience for breast cancer patients and survivors receiving their brand new Tempur-Pedic® mattresses.

UBCF’s mission is to make a positive difference in the lives of those affected by breast cancer. Through this donation event, UBCF was able to serve approximately 140 members of the community. Qualifying recipients received a brand new Tempur-Pedic® mattress along with bedding and other house-hold supplies. UBCF understands the stress that a breast cancer diagnosis and battle can create for both patients and family members. Margaret had this to say about her new mattress, “What a true blessing this will be. I am post-op from my 8th surgery and have been sleeping in a recliner. This is an opportunity to have a restful night of sleep for the first time in over two years. Thank you so much!” Through donations such as this, it is UBCF’s goal to reduce that stress so healing may begin. UBCF intends to have another mattress donation event in the Fall.
