Walk and Wheel-a-Thon

In honor of Breast Cancer awareness month, St. Johnland’s Nursing Center of Kings Park, NY hosted their 20th annual Walk and Wheel-a-thon on October 20th. Their goal was to help raise funds for the United Breast Cancer Foundation.

The beautiful, Fall day was celebrated by everyone who attended the event. Pink painted the atmosphere as you walked by pink pastries from the bake sale and pink themed raffle baskets for the auction. Balloons with Breast Cancer Ribbons were attached to wheel chairs as volunteers were ready to march on the walk. Music filled the air as the heartwarming staff and patients danced their way around the circle.

St. Johnland’s raised over $400 to support UBCF’s mission and programs. A big thank you to Ms. Caroyln O’Brien and the lovely staff at St. Johnland for all their hard work in putting this event together!
