Focusing on Positivity & Holistic Care
Marie is a hugely creative and caring person that began her battle with breast cancer in 2019. This breast cancer diagnosis changed her life greatly. She used her positivity and strength to focus on holistic care with her journey. Marie believes that stress may have triggered her breast cancer because the year prior to her diagnosis, she worked in an extremely stressful environment. Marie worked difficult and long hours and began to have panic attacks often. Then one day, she found a lump in her breast while in the shower which led to her breast cancer diagnosis of stage one breast cancer.
Luckily, a stage one diagnosis signifies early stage breast cancer, still local to its original area. She then went to the doctors for more tests and found that fortunately her breast cancer was not aggressive. Marie decided to get a lumpectomy and focus on natural treatments. To accomplish this she has used UBCF’s Holistic Care Grants to receive holistic and alternative treatments. She explains that these treatments have made a huge difference on how she feels. With her holistic outlook she has also focused on bringing positivity and healing into other aspects of her life. She began a journey of forgiveness, letting go of judgement, and leaving negativity behind. Marie reached out to people from her past and mended old bridges.
Marie also got rid of toxins in any physical form. She stopped using deodorant, shampoos and other personal care products with chemicals. She feels that taking these steps has placed her on an empowering journey towards healing in every form. Marie shared, “Change your heart, change your spirit, cleanse your home, and be still.” She urges others to seek guidance and “do good”. Through this holistic journey, Marie explains the impact that UBCF has had on her. Without UBCF, she would be deciding between her health and bills, a choice that no breast cancer patient should have to make. She is so thankful that she gets to undertake a holistic journey to treat her breast cancer.
