To UBCF Staff and Board of Directors-

A very sincere thank you to UBCF, it’s Board of Directors, the timeshare owner who generously donated this facility, Beth Reichart and Jennifer Spina for a beautiful, memory making vacation!

I was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer in January 2014. I spent over a year of treatment including biopsies, scans,18 weeks of chemotherapy, infusions, surgery, reconstruction, 7 weeks of radiation and physical therapy all ending in April 2015. When I was diagnosed with cancer my husband, being the sole wage earner in our family, notified his employer what was happening and that he would need some time off. The result was that my husband was let go from his job. UBCF has been a bright spot and a lifesaver in our lives.

I found your organization through internet searches looking for financial assistance. Your organization has blessed us with both an individual grant as well as a child grant. The child grant helped pay for my kids sports and religious education. Jennifer was a pleasure to work with. She has the unique ability to make a person feel like they are at home with her. Very caring, professional and a true gem for your organization! When I received an email regarding the Timeshare Vacation Giveaway Drawing my husband and I decided to throw our names in the ring. We had not been able to take time away from our everyday life to just enjoy being together as a family and not think about the stress we have experienced. What a surprise we felt when we were notified of being chosen.

My parents, niece and nephew from out of state met us in Virginia for the vacation. The grounds of The Historic Powhatan are very nice and the Manor house is the first thing in view as we pulled into the resort. The staff at check-in were very helpful and professional. Our timeshare was perfectly located within walking distance of the pool, activities and the mini golf course. We had fun on the first day by the pool. They had a DJ that did fun contests and activities for the kids. Ours loved it! We spent a lot of time at the resort , visited Colonial Williamsburg and Washington DC. It was a vacation we will never forget.

Thank you for all your organization does for Breast Cancer patients, survivors, children and families.

Sincerely,

Kelly
