First of all, I’d like to thank the Foundation for their assistance. Secondly, thank you Devin for making this entire process so easy. Last, and never least, thank you God for a good report!
I recently moved to a rural part of North Carolina, finding myself with no job, no health insurance, and no familiar physicians. Since my mother had breast cancer, I’m at a higher risk for contracting it. Therefore an annual breast screening is very important to me. Not knowing what to do without health insurance to cover the screening and being on a fixed income, was a real concern. I was already “over due” for my next mammogram.
One day I was reading the local newspaper and noticed an article pertaining to healthcare. At the end of the article the web site for the United Breast Cancer Foundation was given. With hope and curiosity, I went on line to the site looking for some direction in finding a way to help me get a screening. I was immediately impressed with all the information available and the possibility of qualifying for a free breast screening.
Within hours of submitting my request on line a representative contacted me with complete instructions to follow. Within a few weeks I had my screening approved, completed, and covered by UBCF! Amazing!!
